She couldn't help but give a light laugh, "It seems so, considering how much spunk you manage to dish out despite the fact." She went to sit down next to him, fixing her dress all the while to ensure NOTHING EMBARRASSING would happen. Even after she was done situating herself, her fingers played with the ruffles of cloth on it, "Really Carly, you think you'd strive for better food choices. At this rate you'll only give yourself a stomach ache."

'C- carly...?'
"Don't call me that!" he practically shouts, slamming a fist on the table. Calming down rather quickly becauseit'sPaige, he turns to look at her finally.
"Don't call me that." he says in a much nicer tone. "I can handle my food just fine without your input. Plus this food is good. And hot." well, he kinda stutters at the 'hot' part of his sentence...
Ahhwhywhywhy did she have to sit next to him? What was wrong with Duske's stupid seats?? They were just as good! He was having a hard time controlling his blush now, god she smelled way too good right now...... is that creepy? It's not like he can block scents from filling into his nostrils. Especially nice, girl scents. AUGHstupidfuckingblush fuck fuck maybe he could blame it on the food. Of course. It's the food. Way too spicy. Damn cooks, don't know how to make Mexican food. Or hot cheetos. Do they make the cheetos? Augh when is this going to end why can't she just leave forever??
Carlyle began to squirm. His hormones were raging a little but uncontrollably at the moment.
"UH." he states finally. "I have to take a shit." Getting up and leaving his beloved food, he runs to the bathroom. Wow. Take a shit? Aren't you fucking smart, way to make yourself look like a retard in front of a hot ass girl. He lets out a loud sound of frustration, and sits down on the floor.

Now Paige was very aware of the situation, very...mindful that she stirred rather FUNNY FEELINGS in other men. She wasn't at all oblivious to what was really happening and she found it all very...adorable. Her face completely changed at Carlyle's rather quick excuse to leave, watching as he disappeared from the room, "Eloquent...as always." She then turned back to look at Duske, her expression a bit stern now, "You should be more mindful of what you say, really. In a job like this where anyone can just...well you know." She softened a bit, "You wouldn't want to regret anything you say."

Duske sighed as he played with a tomato resting in his salad. "I suppose you're right..." It was a pleasant surprise having Paige spring out of nowhere and join them. Out of everyone from the PMF, she truly was the only one he didn't secretly want to punch sometimes.
"What brings you here?"

Paige straightened up a bit, looking a little stressed out, "Comfort. There's always someone here that I can talk to so...haha, here I am." She propped her elbows onto the table, her fingers entwined tightly with each other to rest her chin on, ".....we've lost another today. Yet another case I couldn't justify within my mind to go find them on the Other Side. It's just taxing to know there isn't much I can do otherwise." She let out a half-hearted laugh, averting her gaze away from him, "....I guess I'm scared if anything. The last Trial was much harder than the one before it. Albeit still easy as pie, but...." She got quieter, "...I'm beginning to see the limits of my abilities."

Limitation to power. Duske could relate to that more than he would have liked. Continuing his slow process of eating his salad, he commented "Perhaps you're under too much stress. You know how dangerous it is activating it..." Duske momentarily thought of the possibility of Paige being lost forever and put his fork down.
"Our soul gems never recover from corruption, even with the grief seeds we might pile into it." It was true. Over time they become corrupt whether the powers are used or not. All they could do was prolong their lives until the end, but perhaps it wasn't as hopeless as it seemed. Everything will end someday in a similar fashion.[/size]

What a haunting thought. Of course death itself was an inevitability, but that was exactly what she had used her wish for....a preventative to it. She was quiet for a few moments, only talking when she realized just how awkward the silence could seem, "Such a dismal outlook on things, hmm? I'm sure there's a topic much more uplifting that we could focus on. I apologize for bringing it up." She forced a rather convincing smile in case reassurance was needed, "I can only imagine you've problems of your very own. I didn't mean to be such a downer." She smoothed down the cloth of her dress with flat palms, "Carlyle...he sure is taking a while." She sighed, she knew that boy was going to have a stomach ache

Duske gave out a hearty laugh. Yes, let's lighten the mood. "That boy needs to learn how to eat a balanced meal... reminds me of myself a bit." Back when he was younger Duske would eat whatever he felt like, which for a young boy wasn't the most healthiest way to live.
"Have you ever had those cream puffs? The one's that came in the shapes of swans. What was the brand name again?" Duske asked, trying to remember the tasty treats he so loved as a child.
