Kyosuke enters the room wide, glass-walled room. The floor remains bare except for a chair, a bench, and a music stand. He meticulously rests his violin case on the bench before unlatching the top. He gently removes the balanced bow and he moves the chinrest towards him.
He aims the violin’s scroll towards the glorious light flowing through the window as he tunes the strings. He keeps his eyes closed as he slowly dances around the floor while bathing himself in melodic harmony. Suddenly, he stops. He opens his eyes and gazes out at the quilted city landscape. The nearby buildings appear to be in pristine, almost ornate condition. However, as his vision progresses, he sees patches of withering, burned, and destroyed homes. Smoke rises in the distance and dissipates into the bleak sky.
“I… I…” he mumbles to himself.
He swiftly returns to the case and packs his instrument away. He rushes down the hall to his bedroom. Once inside, he rests the instrument on his bed and slams the door. He grabs a stack of old music books and begins placing them on the window sill. Some uneven stacks topple over and sprawl on the hardwood floor, but he continues to place more from his bookshelf. Once the window is sufficiently covered, he retrieves his violin and turns off the light.
He plays a melancholy piece in absolute darkness, letting his eyes absorb the desperate reality. As he finishes with a decrescendo, he mentally screams, “Why, why!? Why can’t I do more!?...”
(Just a little intro for Kyosuke. Kyubey could appear if he REALLY wanted to, but this is really just here to show that Kyosuke is now present in our story. He'll move when appropriate.)
